I believe in last or this episode the emperor and Hin Yeung both tricked in a way General Man to volunteer to escort the government money to aid areas in need of such money, with this they can be assured General Ma won't get his hands on these money. So General Man and Hin Yeung were away on this mission. General Ma himself thought he could simply call an ordinary stone a magical stone with the name "Yin" on it so as to say Concubine Yin is a blessing to them all and should be made empress. Of course the emperor twisted the entire argument to say the word Yin is another word I can't remember and so ordered General Ma to escort this magical stone to some temple far far away to be placed there and blessed. General Ma had to leave the palace as well.
Meanwhile, Po Yin looked pale and so her mother thought she was pregnant but then Kam Ling fainted a bit and it turns out Kam Ling was the one pregnant. Po Yin and mom were of course not pleased. Kam Ling was so happy with her pregnancy she gloated as she looked at the drawing of Po Yin and herself and sneered at Po Yin, then somehow tripped on the painting, hit her tummy onto the side of the table and suffered a miscarriage. Royal doctor was called and she demanded the doctor to keep this as a secret for the next 10 days or else she will reveal the fact that he sells palace medicine for own profit. So she went on as usual.
Meanwhile silly Mrs Man went out of palace and bought a voodoo doll to curse Kam Ling's pregnancy but Po Yin advised her mother to destroy the doll as black magic is punishable with death. Moreover she felt it was the emperor's child, they can't be that cruel. So the mother burnt the doll. However Fei Yin got hold of the ashes when Kam Ling became suspiscious of Mrs Man who came back with a bruise on her head as told by the young eunuch and she knew Mrs Man was up to something since if just prayers Mrs Man wouldn't be acting that way. When Kam Ling saw the ashes with her birthdate on it, she blew her top and was convinced her miscarriage was caused by black magic and went on to ensure Mrs Man falls into the trap she devised; that suddenly she suffered miscarriage and the doctor confirmed that and the emperor and empress dowager prejudiced by their hatred for General Ma was convinced Mrs Man did something and so made her confess she did got hold of a voodoo doll and interestingly the eunuchs found the doll in whole in her room. She knew she was set up and accused Kam Ling who cried and made a big deal of everything but Mrs Man refused to name her daughter as one of the other person who saw the doll being destroyed. In her arrogance she told the emperor she was untouchable since her husband and her cousin are important people, and in anger the emperor ordered she be held in prison and to be strangled to death.
In prison she panicked and Po Yin tried to talk to the emperor but the emperor refused to see her and spent his time consoling Kam Ling. She begged for help from Sam Hou who told her she can see the emperor at the turtle shrine and so she went to wait but the emperor was busy with Kam Ling and so never turned up.
