Did watched but too sick to write recap.
Just a quick summary.
In this episode we learn of Madam Choi who had actually taken bribes over the years and planning to retire comfortably in a big mansion and so pretended to be ill. On her behalf Sam Hou and gang begged the empress dowager to allow Madam Choi to retire with full glory and Empress Dowager agreed. But Kara found out about the mansion and that Madam Choi pretended to be sick since she threw away all medicine prepared by her and out of blind anger, she told Susanna and Michelle the truth; that it was Madam Choi who caused both Susanna and Michelle their chance to leave the palace 20 years ago because Madam Choi just became Top Madam and she wanted to consolidate her power. In blind anger all 3 idiots (Yes, idiots) went to Empress Dowager and exposed Madam Choi; Michelle because she couldn't see her dying mother; Susanna because she couldn't marry the man she loved and Kara, stupidest reason of all, thinking Madam Choi cheated her out of the top madam position. Madam Choi in the end admitted her guilt and then her title was stripped and she was to die in the palace when she fainted. Doctor says she has end stage liver cancer I think and she had a matter of weeks or days. In shock Madam Choi ranted against the heavens and the palace life, thinking she didn't do big harm to anyone and yet here she was, her comeuppance. At night she ranted again and Kara begged for forgiveness for being so darn stupid but Madam Choi already forgave her and confessed she was always worried for Kara if she were to be top madam. Together they cried hard and Michelle and Susanna overheard and realised what idiots they were to hold on to a 20 year old grudge. For all of Madam Choi's faults, she did served under the most difficult empress dowager, protected them and gave them a good working environment. They couldn't see beyond that of course, they could only see dying mother, parted lover.
True! For god's sake, move on women! MOVE ON! Sam Hou on behalf of Susanna and Michelle begged Empress Dowager to allow Madam Choi to leave the palace and she did on condition her pension and all money confiscated so Madam Choi had to leave through back door and as a pauper and I suppose to her death not much later.
But we know Susanna and Michelle will never call it a truce because if then their roles will be redundant.
